After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, 911Cares did a tremendous amount of
work collecting clothing, toiletries, children’s games and canned goods
for the families of 9-1-1 dispatchers and first-responders. Their
efforts were invaluable as they helped give peace of mind to emergency
professionals that their families would be taken care of so that they
could focus on providing critical public service to their communities.
A number of industry organizations such as NENA and APCO helped in
these relief efforts.
In addition to all of the goods our employees donated, InterAct supplied our trucks to pick up and distribute the much needed supplies. At the recent National NENA show in Pittsburgh, PA, 911Cares graciously recognized our efforts. While we are honored, we truly feel that the men and women who continued to provide emergency services in the face of disaster are the ones deserving of unlimited recognition.
